Education:
Dr. Ugarte graduated from the University of Chicago in 1964. Later, he transferred to the University of Chicago to complete his general surgery training in 1970. He served as Instructor of General Surgery at the University of Chicago, and Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Chicago Medical SChool. He trained in thoraic, cardiovascular and laparoscopic surgery at the University of Chicago.
